The cygnet sound level meter 2013 is a low budget instrument intended to be used as a survey instrument. It is ideal for taking spot measurements. The measurement range is from 50-115 dBA in a single range. The dB value detected by a true RMS detector is displayed on a digital display with 0.1 dB resolution. The meter has an in-built fixed A weighting network, which is the most commonly used weighting network for environmental and machine noise measurements; and a switch selectable time weighting response, which can be switched between slow and fast. It has a fixed inbuilt œ pre-polarised condenser microphone. The instrument is powered by four AA size (pencil batteries), which give a life of about 120 hours of continuous use on alkaline cells. It is supplied in a soft carrying case with a windscreen and operation manual. The 2013 can be field calibrated using the Acoustic Calibrator 3022.
