The active current converter module MCR from Phoenix Contact is now also available in two passive versions. The modules MCR-SLP-1/5-UI-O-(-SW) convert sinusoidal alternating currents of 1 and 5 A into the analogue standard signals 0-20 mA and 0-10 V. Here both the current and the voltage signal are simultaneously available at the output. Both modules obtain the power for signal conversion from the input signal. As a result, the separate supply of the measuring transducer and additional wiring costs are eliminated. The MCR-SLP-1/5-UI-O-SW measuring transducer is also equipped with an additional Schmitt trigger. The corresponding limit and the setting of an alarm suppression time is carried out simply via potentiometers on the front of the housing. As switches, a break-contact element and a make-contact element are available on the output side. Their switching status is signalled with two LEDs. With an overall width of just 22.5 mm, these passive current converters offer an inexpensive alternative for the measurement of alternating currents.
