For every metal finishing process surface conditioning plays a very important role. It is much more sophisticated then cleaning and acid dipping. As per the metal finishing process, the cycle of the surface conditioning with the controlled treatment stages are planned. Each step calls for special methods and conditioners selected for a typical substrata and for surface finishing. Heavy accumulation of soil such as oil, grease, buffing compounds and greasing lubrications are removed by immersion or by spray and to be removed by employing solvent emulsions degreaser or heavy duty soak degreaser. Precleaning will not remove 100% of the soil to leave a `water-break-free’ surface and it is, therefore, essential for further cleaning with alkaline soak or electrolytic cleaners.
