Okk, Japan, has developed CNC Vertical Machining Centre Model VM4 especially for use in die and mould making industry. The machine has superb cutting performance and very high accuracy. Powerful 2-gear, high torque spindle for-heavy duty cutting is provided. The machine construction is very rigid. Smoother cutting performance is achieved by using sturdy square guideways. The tool change time of ATC is 1.5 second. The machine is provided with Fanuc 18 MC CNC control system. The standard spindle speed is 6,000 RPM and optionally 8,000 RPM can be provided. HQ control is provided as standard. By this control the workpiece can be machined at higher speeds without deformation. This feature increases productivity. Soft scale is provided as standard. Many optional items like TDC Fuzzy for thermal displacement compensation, spindle head lubricant temperature controller, lift up chip conveyor, NC rotary table, pallet changer, etc, can be provided optionally. The traverses of the machine are X 630 mm, Y 4 1 0 nun, Z 460 mm. Maximum weight that can be loaded on the table is 500 kg and the spindle tapes is BT 40. The spindle motor is AC 7.7/ 5.5 kW.
