Universal Tool offers carbide lugged reamers with special steel shank body. The carbide lugs are brazed and vacuumed with very strong brazing joint. Lugged design eliminates use of full solid carbide, which saves the cost of tool. Lugged drills reamers are also offered in coolant fed design where coolant channel is provided in the body, offering very long life. These are available from Ø 8 mm up to Ø 40 mm also available in various steps and combine designs. In case of solid carbide lugged design drills the special point filing geometry can be achieved in making the drill self-centering, unlike in brazed design where this is not possible.
