Cole-Parmer India offers Anti-microbial Plastic Fittings. These are single barb fittings that utilise the revolutionary, AgION anti-microbial technology to inhibit microbe growth on the interior and exterior surfaces of the fitting. This technology relies on the anti-microbial protection of silver to protect against a broad spectrum of bacteria, fungi, and other microbes. It utilises silver ions contained within a 100% inorganic ceramic carrier used to coat the fitting’s surfaces. These ions are released through a unique and controlled ion exchange process to keep the surfaces of the fitting microbe-free. Anti-microbial fittings are available in nylon, HDPE, polypropylene, Kynar, and soon 316 stainless steel. Sizes range from 1/8" to 1", and are available in shapes from straight to Y-connectors. AgION anti-microbial-protected products are safe and effective for use in food and water contact applications. AgION anti-microbial technology is registered with the EPA and is FDA recognised. Use fittings in conjunction with Flexelene Silver anti-microbial-protected tubing for a completely protected wetted path.
