Alternators & Variable Frequency Drives comes from Bijendra Heavy Electricals, an ISO 9001:2000 certified concern, is manufacturing synchronous generators (alternators), hydro turbines, heavy duty motors, advanced AVRs and their auxiliaries ranging from 2 MW to 20 MW and variable drives on its own design and technology. The company has manufactured/supplied/commissioned more than 40 heavy fuel based power plants totalling a capacity of 200 MW. It also undertakes repairs in the same product segment mentioned above. It has also manufactured/commissioned power plants for operation on gas. These power plants are running on 90% gas and 10% fuel; they are running successfully and satisfactorily. In terms of fuel consumption, the cost remains 1/3 (one third) compared to petro-fuel based power plant. The company has developed variable frequency drive of own design, for use on AC motors, the purpose being low maintenance and long life compared to DC motors. This drive will shortly come under mass production for further marketing. The company is emerging as the fastest growing concern in India in field of heavy power generation plants.
