Energy saving air nozzles and blow guns save up to 90 per cent of the compressed air used to remove swarf or provide local cooling during metal, wood or plastics machining operations. Both the jets and nozzles are designed with external and internal profiles that produce a 'Coanda' effect, which entrains surrounding air and multiplies airflow by up to 25 times, compared with an open tube. As a result, less compressed air is consumed and noise levels are reduced. The air saver jets give the highest force in relation to air consumption, providing high thrust at distances up to 300 mm for applications such as part ejection, drying or chip removal. The adjustable nozzles provide greater airflows and thrust for wide area swarf removal or cooling. For cooling duties alone, there is a range of compressed air powered vortex tubes, able to handle heat loads up to 2500 Btu/hr and give spot refrigeration down to 40° C.
