World's most advanced materials and equipment show to be held in Tokyo



TOKYO, March 20, 2017/PRNewswire/ - Reed Exhibitions Japan Ltd., Japan's largest trade show organiser, will be holding 8th Highly-functional Material Week from April 5-7, 2017 at Tokyo Big Sight, Japan. The show consists of 5 specialised exhibitions: 8th FilmTech JAPAN - Highly-functional film expo, 6th PLASTIC JAPAN - Highly-functional plastic Expo, 4th METAL JAPAN - Highly-functional metal expo, 2nd CERAMICS JAPAN - Highly-functional ceramics expo, and newly launched 1st JOINING JAPAN - adhesion and joining expo. This year, with its concurrent shows 1,540 exhibitors and 70,000 professionals from 45 countries are expected to gather in April.

Today, advanced materials have been widely used in a variety of fields such as electronics, automobile, aerospace, shipbuilding, medical, rechargeable battery, renewables, robotics, construction, design and became indispensable materials for future innovations, and many industry professionals are visiting Highly-functional Material Week to find the world's most advanced materials as well as related equipment and technologies.

8th FilmTech JAPAN, the world's largest advanced film and equipment show gathers 250 exhibitors and all kinds of films, decorative films, adhesive tapes, functional materials, functional coating and related equipment will be showcased to attract professionals from flat panel display, electronics, automotive, medical and food packaging industries, as well as those who are seeking advanced film technologies from around the world. Major exhibitors are Dai Nippon Printing, Techno Smart, The Japan Steel Works, Toppan Printing, Toshiba Machine.

6th PLASTIC JAPAN, a specialised show covering all kinds of advanced plastics and composites, attracts 180 exhibitors this year. Of all exhibitors, 60 companies will be new exhibitors such as Arkema, Mitsui Chemicals, Nissan Chemical Industries, Sodick, Ube Industrys. To search new materials and technologies for new development, professionals who are in charge of R&D, design, production technology, etc. will be visiting the show.

4th METAL JAPAN, Japan's largest advanced metals and equipment show, gathers 170 exhibitors this year. Different kinds of advanced metals such as aluminum, copper, titanium, magnesium, precious metal and steel as well as processing equipment, testing, analysis equipment, recycling technology, etc. will be showcased at the show. The world's major companies such as Jfe Steel, Jx Nippon Mining and Metals, Nippon Light Metal, Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal and Tanaka Kikinzoku Kogyo are exhibiting this year to promote their cutting-edge products and technologies.

As the very first edition concluded with a huge success last year, 2nd Ceramics Japan comes back with 140 exhibitors and 60 of them will be newcomers. Exhibits range from advanced ceramics, materials, ceramics coating and powder technologies to contract services. Leading companies such as NGK Insulators, NGK Spark Plug, Noritake, Saint-Gobain and Toto will be exhibiting.

This April, 1st Joining Japan - Adhesion and Joining Expo will be added to highly-functional material week cluster and attracts 110 exhibitors from the first edition. Surface treatment, joining equipment, testing/evaluation/analysis equipment, adhesive materials and related technologies will be showcased. Companies such as Mec, Nitto Denko, Taiseiplas, Threebond Group, Toagosei will be exhibiting.
