The new state-of-the-art products are absolute optical scales and absolute rotary encoders. The absolute measurement of position has become essential due to frequent power interruptions while CNC machining. The use of absolute position measuring device such as Givi Misure’s Absolute Glass Scale enables the CNC system to know the exact present position after power to the machine is restored. This avoids cumbersome homing or referencing exercise and adds up to the productivity of the machine. The AGS Series absolute glass scale is available up to 3240 mm length with resolution up to 0.1 microns and with accuracy of ±3 microns. The scale offers serial interface SSI-BiSS with or without 1 Vpp analog. AGS scale is compact, robust in construction with IP 64 protection. The scale electronics is protected against polarity inversion and short circuit. Also the electronics is designed for high speed data transfer and high signal stability.
